Will an original Macbook harddrive work in the new Macbook?

Basically will it boot up and run properly because i wana get a the new macbook and want to make it easy on me by swaping out the harddrive from my old macbook to the new one. So would it work?
Im sure that new and old macbooks and new and old macbook pros use the same HD but just wana know if it will work in the other

I don’t think it will. I believe that they are two different hard drive types.
